What do 110 hours mean to you: World’s Worst Traffic Congestions

Delhi has already won the tag of world’s most polluted city. Sit down a couple of Puneites and talk of bad traffic and commute time congestion is never far around. Not that they are wrong.

The police, of course, is doing what it can. After a lot of hue and cry about using high-beam lights last month, the latest salvo fired is for two wheelers going the wrong-way.

Why? Because they don’t want Pune to win the most polluted city tag, after all. Short-cuts, although the wrong way, reduce fuel consumption and therefore the carbon footprint!

What with country’s fuel import bill rising each day. It is not right to add to the current account deficit. Not going the wrong way will impact the country’s economy. No matter we have a few accidents here and there, that is part of life.

According to the latest survey by GPS producer TomTom, Istanbul, Turkey, and Moscow topped the most gridlocked places, I am guessing India was not part of the study.

For a 30 min commute, these drivers have to waste 110 hours each year.
