High school student Courtney and her friends are delighted to take the opportunity to go for a swim in the ocean as summer rolls around. Their fun experience gets a bit thrilling when Courtney meets Bruce and the two have a fling on the side.
But with the fun over, Courtney is ready to go back to her normal life. But Bruce finds her and insists on meeting again. Ready to humor Bruce, Courtney ignores his forceful nature. But soon, she realizes that there is much more than infatuation at play there.
When she cannot get rid of Bruce even after multiple attempts, Courtney decided to take things into her own hands when his insistence turns into a deadly obsession. What she does not know yet is that Bruce is a killer and in hiding under his new false identity as a Shark researcher.

The movie was filmed in Norwich, Connecticut, USA. After scouting various locations, the director found the Saybrook Breakwater Lighthouse which is one of the most beautiful and historic lighthouses in Connecticut. Saybrook Breakwater was built in 1886.
