Normal People Plot
‘Normal People’ follows Marianne and Connell as their magnetic pull toward each other keeps bringing them back together over the course of years.
We begin in the school years of two teenagers Marianne and Connell. Marianne is shy and private as against Connell who is the star of his soccer team and very popular.
When, one day, Connell comes to pick up his mother working at Marianne’s home, the two experience intense pull toward each other that they are bent on hiding.
Fast forward to Trinity college and the tables are turned. Marianne finds her footing here whereas Connell fades into background hovering on the edges uncertain of his position in the new social order.
Throughout their years in college, Marianne and Connell circle one another, straying toward other people and possibilities but always magnetically, irresistibly drawn back together.
Then, as she veers into self-destruction and he begins to search for meaning elsewhere, each must confront how far they are willing to go to save the other.

The series is based on the book of the same name by Sally Rooney. Lenny Abrahamson and Hettie McDonald direct the series with 12 episodes in the first season. The series premieres on April 29 2020.
