Cherish the Day series follows a new couple in each each season as each episodes spans a day in the life of the couple.

We meet Gently James and Evan Fisher as the couple meet and fall in love in Los Angeles, with the full season spanning five years in eight episodes.
Along with the main couple we come across,
- Gently’s foster father, a former gang member who works as deliveryman for the Los Angeles Times.
- Dana, Evan’s mother who disapproves of his relationship with Gently and is not shy about sharing her reservations, and
- Ellene, Evan’s well-bred, religious sister.

Ava DuVernay of Queen Sugar writes and produces the series. Tanya Hamilton directs the pilot season of the series that unfolds over eight episodes and premieres on February 11 2020.
