Making bread is a tricky job. The yeast has to be in the right quantity, the dough has to be kneaded well, but has to be loose, and then the oven must reach the high temperature that you want for the bread to bake right.

I have tried this many time and failed multiple times before I got this right. I tried making bread with dry yeast a couple of times, but failed to activate it. Then tried baker’s yeast and that didn’t work either until I got the water temperature just right. So here it is, how to activate dry yeast.
How to Activate Dry Yeast
1 Tbsp Dry yeast granules
1/2 cup water
1 tsp Sugar
Method
1. Heat the water for a minute or two. You don’t want it to be lukewarm but also not boiling hot. Too cold and the yeast would not activate, and if too hot it will kill the bacteria.
2. Dip a finger in the water and if you feel that it is hot, it is hot enough.
3. Add the granules to the water and whisk well
4. Add the sugar and let it rest for a few minutes. If you live in colder climates, put the pot in the oven to avoid rapid cooling.

You will see frothing at the top once the yeast is activated. If you do not see this, try again.
