After giving us some amazing mystery franchises in the last couple of years, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries is back with a new one with the first one airing in March. A Puzzle to Die For movie this week takes us into the art world as New York Sentinel Crosswords editor realizes that advance clues are embedded in the puzzles published by her paper.

New York Times puzzle editor and creator Will Shortz creates this new franchise with the first movie directed by Don McCutcheon. Hallmark’s favorite stars Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliott play the lead roles in the movie that premieres on March 10 2019.

A Puzzle to Die For Plot
A Puzzle to Die For movie follows New York Sentinel Crosswords editor Tess Harper becomes involved in a murder mystery following the death of a prominent gallery owner. Detective Logan O’Connor is assigned to the case and examines the crime scene.
After learning that her Aunt Candace was a close friend to the Nightingales, Tess runs into Logan at the newspaper office and eavesdrops on his conversation with crime reporter Harris.
Tess tries to help Logan with the investigation but he is skeptical of her theory about clues in the puzzles. When she is able to predict the city’s next art theft, including date, time, place and painting, he finally comes around.
But before she can reach Logan, she is confronted at gunpoint by the killer, who marches her up a service stairway to the hotel’s roof where, inches away from plummeting to her death, Tess attempts to stall the killer long enough for help to arrive.
