Masala Pav is a spicy and mouthwatering dish that is comparatively new. That is, compared to Pav Bhaji – a mixed vegetable stew served with pav bread.

What makes it a favorite snack on any evening is that it can get your taste buds flowing the moment you take your first bite. And if you like the kick of hot food, with lots of butter, you will be in pure heaven.
Although rarely made at home, I think it is the easiest and most tasty snack that you can make in 30 minutes or less. Simple and with minimal ingredients this has to be one the most flavorful and simple recipes.

Masala Pav Ingredients
2 cups onions, chopped
1/2 cup capsicum
1/2 cup tomato
3 tbsp tomato puree
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tbsp pav bhaji masala
1 tsp kashmiri chili
1 lemon juice
3 tbsp butter
1 tsp oil
A dash of chat masala
salt to taste
2-3 Packets of Pav
Masala Pav Method
1. Heat the oil in a wok and add the onions
2. Add the Butter to the onions and then, add chopped capsicum
3. Fry on high heat for a couple of minutes
4. Add Turmeric, Pav Bhaji Masala, salt, and Kashmiri Chili to the wok
5. Fry for a minute and then add chopped tomatoes
6. Mix in the Tomato puree and the Chat Masala

8. Halve the Pav bread and apply generous butter on both sides

This simple but flavorful snack is a must with a movie like Vaastav. A throwback at the Mumbai gang wars and the infamous police encounters, Vaastav, which also means reality, tracks the time and life of Raghu (Sanjay Dutt) and his friend Dedh Footya (sanjay Narvekar).
Vaastav: The Reality
Director: Mahesh Manjrekar
Stars: Sanjay Dutt, Namrata Shirodkar, Mohnish Bahl
Lack of job, harassment from goons, and attracted to money and gold, Raghu takes the easy route of crime. A story that was all too common at the time in Mumbai, Vaastav paints the complete picture of social pressures and aspirations of youth who lose their way.
Performance by Sanjay Dutt and Sanjay Narvekar along with the whole depiction of Mumbai life will give you all the ambience you need to enjoy your Masala Paav.
