Black Earth Rising TV Series Plot
Black Earth Rising TV series follows an ensemble cast that revolves around Kate Ashby. A strong, fiercely intelligent young woman, Kate was rescued from the horrific aftermath of the Rwandan genocide as a child, then adopted and raised in the UK by international lawyer Eve Ashby.
Raised in Britain and now, in her late 20s, she works as a legal investigator in the law chambers of Michael Ennis. When Eve takes on a case at the International Criminal Court, prosecuting an African militia leader, the story detonates, pulling Michael and Kate into a journey that will upend their lives forever.
Intelligent, determined and empathetic, Eve was a key player in early attempts to bring those responsible for the Rwandan genocide to justice. But she is also deeply aware Kate must ultimately stand on her own feet and face disturbing truths about both their pasts.

Episode 1
Kate, who has long struggled to escape the shadow of her past, is now returning to work as a legal investigator in the same chambers as Eve, under leading international lawyer Michael Ennis.
