Beauty and age have become synonymous in the last two decades. As people become obsessed with taking selfies and posting them on social media, appearances have gone international and need for adulation has skyrocketed. Age Before Beauty TV series on BBC One explores the notion of beauty and expectations from different ages in this humorous drama spanning three generations.

Age Before Beauty TV Series Plot
Age Before Beauty TV series follows generations of a family as they explore youth, age, instant gratification and long-term relationships in the backdrop of a failing beauty salon that sees all the family members involved.
We meet Bel, married to Wesley for 25 years and mother to twins, now off to college. The sudden void in her life has made her edgy. When her friends and brother-in-law begs her to come and save the family salon, she sees a new mission and purpose to her life.
Like Bel, the business can do with a bit of a face-lift. And possibly a clear-out, since it employs her high-maintenance family: mother Ivy-Rae, a Northern Soul fanatic and spray tan technician; sisters Leanne – part-time nail-technician, part-time personal stylist; Tina -‘body artist’ aka tattooist; and Heidi – fillers & Botox, cosmetic surgery addict – mother to Disney, plump, nine year-old wannabe Pageant Queen.
But Bel has a bigger problem – Lorelei. A beautiful 20-something personal trainer had caught Wes’ eye. With failing business, warring family members, and he marriage in doldrums, can Bel make it all work?

Bel Finch and her husband Wesley take their children to university – and find they are suffering from empty nest syndrome. Leanne is less than impressed that Bel is back at the salon – especially since Mum Ivy-Rae and sisters Tina and Heidi are waxing lyrical on how Bel is back where she belongs.
