The #1 Billboard album of 1971 that made its way to the stage is now coming alive in New York this Easter Sunday at the Marcy Armory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, N.Y. The production is spearheaded by none other that the illustrious Andrew Lloyd Weber and will tell the story of last week of Christ. Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert will be telecast on NBC.

Jesus Christ Superstar Live
Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert is a staged version of the original rock musical from the 70s. John Legend plays Jesus Christ, with Broadway star Sara Bareilles as Mary Magdalene. They are joined by Dixon who essays the role of Judas, an apostle of Jesus who has concerns for the poor and the consequences of Jesus’s popularity.
Ben Daniels portrays Pontius Pilate, the governor of Judea who has a dream about the gruesome way Jesus will be killed. Peter, one of the apostles who saves himself the night Jesus is arrested is played by Jason Tam.
Erik Gronwall will play apostle Simon Zealotes, who believes Jesus should lead his followers into battle against the Romans. While Annas, a priest who aligned with Caiaphas and also saw Jesus as a threat is portrayed by Jin Ha.
