The time-travel based Sci-Fi series first premiered in 2016 and got off to a good start. However, it lost viewership steadily toward the end of the season. Timeless Season 2 now returns on NBC this week after being cancelled last year. The first season ended with a big reveal and now picks up where it left off with Lucy’s mother accepting that she too is a Rittenhouse member.

Timeless Season 2
The first season saw Lucy, a history professor and Wyatt along with Rufus chasing Flynn as he stole the Lifeboat – the time travel machine – on a mission to change America’s history. After wading through the Heidenberg disaster, to the murder of Jesse James, to helping Al Capone avoid jail, Flynn traversed America’s past to get what he wants.
Timeless Season 2 picks up right where the first season left off with our heroes. The series continues to race throughout history with our beloved team: Rufus, a scientist; Wyatt, a soldier; and Lucy, a history professor, in an attempt to prevent the destruction of our world as we all know it.
This season they find an unlikely ally in their quest to ruin Rittenhouse, the deadly organization with plans to change history and reshape reality — even though Lucy’s family has been a part of Rittenhouse for centuries.
Still making every effort not to affect the past themselves, they visit 1692, 1917, 1941, 1981 and more. We see the likes of Marie Curie, Hedy Lamarr, William Randolph Hearst and a multitude of other influential people throughout history, in the new season.

Episode 1
After barely escaping an explosion at Mason Industries, Wyatt (Matt Lanter) and Rufus (Malcolm Barrett) chase the Mothership back to a French battlefront during World War One to rescue Lucy (Abigail Spencer) from Rittenhouse. There, they discover that Lucy has recruited Marie Curie (guest star Kim Bubbs), the famous French scientist and the only person ever to win two Nobel Prizes, to help save the life of a wounded American soldier, only to learn that the soldier is Lucy’s own great-grandfather who Rittenhouse is bringing to the present to be their leader.
Episode 2
The Time Team chases Rittenhouse to a stock car race in the 1950s where Wyatt (Matt Lanter) learns that his favorite race car driver is actually a Rittenhouse sleeper agent on a mission to destroy the American car industry. To stop the Rittenhouse plan, Wyatt, Lucy (Abigail Spencer) and Rufus (Malcolm Barrett) team up with Wendell Scott (guest star Joseph Lee Anderson), the first African-American NASCAR driver.
