‘Dumber than jaywalking at the Indy 500’ says Washington Post reviewer Rita Kempley. But fans of the Ernest series will love this goofy movie from the ‘Ernest’ camp. Jim Varney plays his usual silly self and things go from silly to sillier. After all, why would you watch an Ernest movie if you were looking for anything ‘intellectual’?

Santa Claus is in Orlando to recruit his replacement. Ernest is a cab driver who is a hazard on the roads. Santa predictably gets arrested because no one believes him. Ernest, with an errant teen tagging along, rips the wiring of his friend’s house, stuffs a man onto an airport baggage belt, and is on a path to destruction.
There is very little reason here, as we have come to expect from the Ernest series. If you are a Jim Varney fan, you will love this Christmas movie. For others, it’s still a good way to enjoy the Christmas spirit with a group of friends or family.
