Every now and then comes along a movie that talks about death and living with a terminal disease. The dram is heightened if the victim is a kid or young whose natural time hasn’t come. Netflix’s Irreplaceable You movie explores this topic but much without depth and with lots of superficial drama.

Irreplaceable You Movie Plot
Irreplaceable You movie follows Abbie and Sam as they first butt heads as kids and then form a lifelong, steady relationship over the years. Their attraction for each other and their connection always strong. Abbie grown up to be a kids book author and Sam teaches about neurons. They live perfect, happy single lives and finally decide to take the plunge.
However, their plans come crashing down when Abbie is diagnosed with terminal cancer. Life suddenly puts new questions, plans change and future needs reorientation. As Abbie tries to grapple with imminent death, her concerns for Sam’s well being occupy her thoughts. Abbie decides to set up Sam with other women and try to find the one who can replace her, after she is gone.
But as one of her support group friends Myron points out to Abbie that life doesn’t stop for anyone, Abbie realizes that she must make the most of the time she has.

The performance by the lead actors are good, however, the movie fails to engage the viewers in the first half. And by the time you will get invested in the mvoie, it is more likely that you will have already bailed out. Here are some comments from the critics,
