The Bequest Book Plot
The book cover of The Bequest shows a moon shining over a cliff. The Bequest book begins in hilly California where a man drives to the edge of a cliff and plunges to his death. Identified by a distraught albeit strange woman who is his mother, it seems like he was a struggling screen writer who has left his life’s work in bequest to an actress he admires. Teri Squire, facing ruin after yet another flop is not too keen on accepting this mysterious offering. But once she reads it, she is hooked and the story fast forwards two years later at the premiere of the movie.
Teri and company, including agent/boyfriend Mike are all smiles expecting a big opening weekend for the new blockbuster. Teri is hailed by a strange man at her premiere, asking for an autograph. He identifies himself as Leland Crowell, the man who gifted her the will. Shocked beyond imagination, Teri is completely thrown off. Then begins a whirlwind ride that will shock the reader at every page, with more astounding revelations.
The Bequest Book Review
It is difficult to say much more without giving any details away. And the less told, the better for the reader where this book is concerned. I don’t want to take away those jaw dropping moments you will experience as you read on. Teri is set to lose a lot more than money or reputation. She will be tested to her limits and will be forced to reconsider a past life she left decades ago.
Mike Farris has the pulse of the reader. There is nonstop action here and surprises at every turn. Although I don’t read thrillers a lot any more, I do enjoy well written ones. I haven’t enjoyed a thriller as much as this in a long time. The story is about a script and a movie made from it, and funnily enough, the book is a great candidate for being made into a movie. It has all the elements of being a Hollywood blockbuster. Characters come alive in the pages, and you can actually picture them. That’s the mark of a really good storyteller, according to me.
The Bequest book is a must read for fans of the mystery and thriller genre.
