Kenney began writing humor when he became a member of Signet Society and was the editor of The Harvard Lampoon. He was key to redesigning the humor magazine along with Henry Beard, with whom he later worked on writing multiple plays and collaborated on various projects.
After giving his readers humorous columns like Mrs. Agnew’s Diary and Mrs. Wilson’s Diary, Kenney went on to write screenplay for National Lampoon’s Animal House which went on to become one of Hollywood’s most profitable comedies.
A Futile & Stupid Gesture follows his life through its ups and downs and the various projects he influenced in a scripted drama.
