Udta Punjab is the story about the youth of Punjab and the rampant drug problem that has been undeground for a long time. The problem now seems to get serious and consume everyone in its claws.

Udta Pujab Music Review
The music of Udta Punjab by Amit Trivedi complements this backdrop quite well. A couple of tracks highlight the irreverent thoughts of the drug-crazy youth. A couple of lounge music style tracks represent the emotions of the young immersed in retrospection and a sufi style rendition – a
dilogue with god.
Chitta Ve
Chitta Ve starts with Rap and then moves into disco territory. The song summarizes how the drug travels and pervades the whole of Punjab
Singers: Babu Haabi, Shahid Mallya, Bhanu Pratap
Lyrics: Shelle
Da Da Dasse
Da Da Dasse is a slightly slow paced groovy music to begin with. Could have been a great song but all its lounge feel is disturbed by an unnecessary Rap interludes. Not everything has to have Rap!Singers: Kanika Kapoor, Babu Haabi
Lyrics: Shelle
Ikk Kudi
Ikk Kudi is a track you can listen on the long drives or have on your playlist when you are in the mood to just listen to some melodious music. It is rare to get melodious tracks in movies these days, but Ikk Kudi fits into that category very well.
Singers: Shahid Mallaya
Lyrics: Late Shri Shiv Kumar Batalvi, from his poem Ikk Kudi
Ud-Daa Punjab
The song, like Chitta Ve, talks about the condition of youth in Punjab. Once again you have Rap interludes. It is not like that I don’t like Rap, but I am not very fond of Rap interludes that Bollywood uses indiscriminately for some reason. Not the kind of track you would listen out of the movie theaters.
The song hough has folksy sounds and a good rhythm.
Singers: Vishal Dadlani and Amit Trivedi
Lyrics: Varun Grover
Hass Nach Le
A sufi style soulful rendition that uses just the basic few instruments. Sufi music lovers will like this track.
Singers: Shahid Mallya
Lyrics Shelle
Vadiya
A trance music track that you would prefer to listen to when you are high, I guess. Thankfully this track doesn’t have any unwanted interludes and will work well on your party playlist.
Singers: Amit Trivedi
Lyrics: Shellee
Ikk Kudi – reprised version
In contrast to the melodious other version, this one is a bit fast paced
and heavy on percussion. This one is more crisp and uses more instruments and may seem louder.
Singers: Diljit Dosanjh
