Jolly LLB 2 is the sequel to the first movie which followed a young, inexperienced lawyer in a fight against a powerful lawyer and his clients. It looks like Akshay Kumar relpaces Arshad Warsi in this second movie and takes the audiences to a new location, Lucknow, in this installment.

Jolly LLB 2 Cast
The Akshay Kumar starrer is also directed by Subhash Kapoor who also writes the story of the movie. The 140 min comedy-drama will see Annu Kapoor as the opposing lawyer who will take the place of Boman Irani int he Jolly LLB 2 cast. The director once again brings focus of real-life cases when he says the movie is inspired by true events. Which also means he may not be referring to one particular case in this film.

Jolly LLB 2 Story
A new city, a new courtroom, and a similar inexperienced lawyer. Jolly LLB 2 story comes with the same set up as the first part, but with new actors and a new case. While the first movie began with a bang, and Jolly was in the middle of the courtroom in a sudden storm of events, our new Jolly – Jagdishwar Mishra – gets a lot of screen time before the actual case begins.
When a young under-trial is executed in an encounter in the middle of road, Jolly decides to investigate the case and bring out the truth. And that is how begins the main case ‘The State Vs. Jolly LLB 2’. The investigation takes Jagdishwar Mishra from the local corridors of power to remote areas of Kashmir. As he gets near the truth, personal attacks against him intensify and he is shot and pursued by the sympathizers of the accused.
He makes a powerful argument against the “Everything is fair in love and war” philosophy, and questions whether it is right for the State or us to adopt this philosophy.
Jolly LLB 2 Review
Compared to the first version, this movie has more commercial appeal. As against the first part, the movie has a number of songs and borders on the Masala Movie format.
Jolly LLB 2 does not disappoint you. From the first humorous scene to the last passionate appeal in the court, Akshay Kumar grabs your attention and keeps you invested in the movie. By the time of interval you feel that the movie is taking a common trajectory. However, the screenplay, actor performances, and script all are interesting enough at all times.
The second half does not disappoint and builds on the story framed in the first part. Here, you see Akshay Kumar in Saurabh Shukla’s court battling Anu Kappor, the defense lawyer. And Akshay Kumar is much more impressive than he was in Rustom.
Sayani Gupta does a fabulous job in her short role as Hina, and these supporting cast performances make the movie engaging and give audiences a rich cinema experience. The intensity of the subject and proceedings is lightened by some humorous scenes like the “Ghoongat 11 Vs. Burkha 11” cricket match and Justice Tripathi’s sarcasm in the court.
Overall, the movie is one of the best to come out this year and is a complete family entertainer and a must watch this weekend.
