This Broccoli curry recipe is an easy version and so doesn’t use a lot of different spices. Most of the ingredients that you need for this Broccoli sabzi recipe will be available in your kitchens. You can adjust the chili and Garam Masala as per your taste. We usually use homemade spices that are fresh and are more aromatic.
- 2 Cups Broccoli Florets
- 1 Tomato, Cubed
- 2 Medium Onions, chopped in quarters
- 2 Tbsp Oil
- 4 Garlic Cloves
- 1/2 inch Ginger
- 1/2 Tsp Red Chilli Powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric
- 1/2 Tsp Garam Masala Powder
How to Make Broccoli Curry Recipe Indian Style
Steamed Broccoli tastes much better than completely cooked and colorless one. You can transfer the stock to a new pot and add florets to the hot water to give it some vibrant color.
- Bring two cups water to a boil
- Add the onion garlic and ginger to the hot water and let it cook for 5 minutes, until the onion gets slightly translucent
- Drain the stock in an empty cup and grind the onion, ginger, and garlic
- Heat the oil in a pot and then add the ground paste
- Add turmeric and chili powder and fry for a couple of minutes
- Add the Broccoli florets and mix well
- Add the half of the onion stock, mix well, and then add the Grama Masala powder
- Add the cubed tomatoes
- Let it simmer for 10 min, or until you have the desired thickness to the gravy
